Door Frame Extender XEX-01
Door Frame Extender XEX-01
Door Frame Extender XEX.
A door frame extender is a strip that is necessary when the wall thickness is non-standard and exceeds the width of the door frame. The extender not only performs a decorative function but also strengthens the structure and adds durability to the door module. Properly selected and installed extenders will make your interior more complete and cozier.
Why do you need extenders?
- Creating a plane: Extenders allow you to create a plane between the door frame and the wall, providing an aesthetic appearance.
- Strengthening the structure: Extenders reinforce the door block, making it more resistant to deformation.
- Protection against drafts: When installed correctly, extenders prevent the appearance of gaps through which cold air or foreign odors can penetrate.
- Masking wall irregularities: Extenders help to hide small defects in the wall in the area of the doorway.
How to choose extenders?
When choosing extenders, the following factors should be considered:
- Door material: Extenders should harmonize with the material and color of the door leaf.
- Wall thickness: Depending on the wall thickness, the type of extender installation varies.
- Interior design: Extenders can be both classic and modern, depending on the overall style of the room.
Installing Extenders.
Installing extenders is a fairly simple process that can be done independently. Depending on the wall thickness, the type of installation of our extenders varies. In different cases, one of four types of installation is used. For more information, see the pictures.
The main stages of installation:
- Determine the wall thickness.
- According to the wall thickness, select the type of door frame (80mm or 100mm) and determine the most suitable type of extender installation (see pictures Options A, B, C, D).
- If necessary, you can increase the width of the door frame to very large sizes by using 2 or more extenders simultaneously (see pictures of options A1, B1)
- Connect the parts of the door frame and extender to form a single part. For connection, we recommend using wood glue and a 23 Ga pneumatic nail.
- After connecting the parts into one, you start the installation according to the installation guide for door frames as it is usually done.
